You know us, we love a pastry sour. So when the Dishoom team first talked to us about creating a limited edition beer for the launch of Permit Room, their new all day bar-cafe in Brighton, there was only one way it was going to go!
An homage to the iconic Dishoom Pineapple & Black Pepper Crumble, their dish has been re-imagined as a soured beer for a truly unique collaboration.
Today, Wednesday 1st November, Permit Room throws its doors open as a salute to the permit rooms of Bombay, in Brighton’s Lanes. A venue inspired by the "beer bars and drinking holes" which flourished in post-prohibition-era Bombay, you’ll be able to enjoy small plates such as crispy spinach chaat alongside a range of Bombay-inspired drinks, including our collaboration beer.
Pineapple & Pepper Crumble is a tart, sweet and refreshing sour. A balanced body, aromas of fresh pineapple, citrus, cinnamon and vanilla tempt you in for a full dessert experience. Lashings of vibrant pineapple purée were added during the end of fermentation with the beer then being conditioned on Madagascan vanilla pods to add a touch of sweetness. Delicately balanced, we designed this beer with drinkability in mind whilst at the same time having a touch of decadence.
Pineapple & Black Pepper Crumble is available now at both our Taproom and Permit Room Brighton, with cans on our webshop.
